6 Days Exceptional Murchison Falls & Gorillas Tour

You will be welcomed and received at Entebbe Airport and transfer to your accommodation for the night.

Today, you will drive to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a walking safari. The sanctuary is home to the over 20 individuals on the ranch. You will also like the different plants and tree species as you walk through the ranch and learn about the different conservation efforts to bring Rhinos back to Uganda. Opportunities are always available to adopt a Rhino or sign up to a name a new born. You will thereafter proceed on the drive to the Murchison Falls and visit the top of the falls.

Early morning, you will transfer to Budongo Forest for Chimpanzee tracking. Budongo Central Forest Reserve is the largest survival natural forest in Uganda, with a total surface of approximately 825 square km, of which 430 square km is continuous forest. The reserve sits atop the Albertine Rift, part of the Great Rift Valley, and is located within the boundaries of Murchison Falls National Park. In the afternoon, go for the boat excursion to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. While on the boat, you will see more wildlife to include Hippos and a variety of birds species. The three-hour launch trip to the bottom of the Falls is unforgettable, both to experience this mighty river and to see the wildlife and birds that bask on its banks.

You will enjoy a morning game drive in Murchison Falls where you will see numerous wildlife to include lions, elephants and beautiful savanna grasslands. In the afternoon, you will take a flight to Bwindi and transfer to your accommodation for the night.

Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Park. this is entirely planned as a full day activity but can still be as short as 4 hours. You will be split into small groups of 8 trackers and be accompanied by rangers who will tell you all about the mountain gorillas.

This morning, you will go for the Batwa community visit. The Batwa are the oldest inhabitants of the Great Lakes region of Central Africa and they are now re-settled in the communities neighboring the National Park since they were moved out of the forest. The Batwa were hunter-gatherers and fierce warriors who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine. This activity involves spending time with the Batwa. Thereafter, transfer to the airstrip for your afternoon flight out to Entebbe to connect with your departure flight out.
