Chimpanzees are over 99.9% DNA similar to that of humans. The minimum age for primate tours is usually 12 years but for younger clients in a group, they could take this option of visiting and feeding Chimpanzees at either the Uganda Wildlife center (Zoo) and Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary.
The adult option is to see the Chimpanzees in the Wild, trek through the forests and spend an hour with them (Chimpanzee Trekking) or spend over 4 hours to a full day in the Forest studying their lifestyles (Chimpanzee Habituation). other places to find Chimpanzees in Uganda include Budongo Forest, Kibale Forest, Kyambura Gorge and Kalinzu Forest. In Rwanda, Chimpanzees can only be found in Nyungwe Park and in Virunga Park for Congo thought though the number of permits is just a handful per day, not ideal for a group.
